Magic-link sign-in

When you create or access an account using a magic link, we collect:

Sign in with Google

When you create or access an account using Google, we may receive:

• Your email address.
• Your name.
• Your Google profile picture.

Competool uses this information to create and maintain your account. Signing in with Google does not give Competool access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, calendar, passwords, or other Google account content.

B. Report and product information

When you use Competool, we store information needed to provide the product, such as:

• Brands and competitors you select.
• Research capabilities and categories you choose.
• Report time periods, regions, and other settings.
• Report requests and generated reports.
• Saved or scheduled report preferences, when available.
• Basic account activity associated with your use of the service.

This information allows us to generate reports, display report history, operate product features, and maintain your account.

C. Communications

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as:

• Your name or email address.
• The content of your message.
• Any files, screenshots, or other information you submit.

Please do not send sensitive personal information through the Contact page.

D. Necessary authentication and security information

Competool and the service providers that support its operation may process limited technical information needed to authenticate users, maintain sessions, prevent fraud, diagnose errors, and protect the service.

This may include necessary cookies or similar technologies, authentication records, request timestamps, IP addresses, browser or device information, and security logs.

Competool does not use this information to create advertising profiles.

We use information to:

We do not use your Google account information to access services beyond the basic account details described in this Policy.

Competool uses third-party technologies to locate, organize, analyze, and summarize publicly available business information.

To generate a report, Competool may send relevant report instructions—such as selected brands, competitors, markets, categories, and time periods—to service providers that support:

• Internet search and research.
• Website retrieval and processing.
• Artificial-intelligence and language-model functions.
• Data storage and database operations.
• Report and document generation.

Do not include sensitive personal information, confidential personal records, trade secrets, or regulated data in report instructions.

We disclose information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.

A. Service providers

We may disclose information to companies that provide services such as:

• Intentionally collect sensitive personal information.
• Intentionally collect personal information from children.

If these practices change, we will update this Policy before using information for a materially different purpose.

Competool may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to:

• Sign you in.
• Keep your session active.
• Remember essential account settings.
• Protect against fraud and unauthorized access.
• Maintain service security and functionality.

Competool does not currently use cookies for targeted advertising.

If we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar technologies, we will update this Policy and provide any notices or controls required by applicable law.

We retain account information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• Provide the service.
• Maintain reports and account history.
• Respond to support requests.
• Protect service security.
• Resolve disputes.
• Enforce agreements.
• Meet legal obligations.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information through the Contact page.

After an account is deleted, some information may remain temporarily in backups, security records, or system logs. We may also retain limited information where required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, or establish or defend legal claims.

We will delete or anonymize personal information when it is no longer reasonably needed for these purposes.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No online service or storage system can guarantee complete security. You are responsible for protecting access to your email account and devices because they may be used to access Competool.

Please contact us promptly if you believe your account or personal information has been compromised.

You may:

• Stop using Competool at any time.
• Change information available through your account, where the feature is available.
• Remove or change your Google profile picture through your Google account.
• Disconnect Competool from your Google account through your Google account settings.
• Request access to personal information we maintain about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Request deletion of your account and personal information.
• Request a copy of certain personal information.
• Object to or request restriction of certain processing where applicable.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

The rights available to you may depend on where you live and may be subject to legal exceptions.

To submit a request, use the Contact page on Competool. We may need to verify that the request relates to your account before completing it.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Because Competool does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is currently no sale or advertising-sharing activity from which you need to opt out.

When you use Sign in with Google, Google provides Competool with the basic account information you authorize, such as your email address, name, and profile picture.

Google processes information according to its own privacy policy and account settings.

Competool uses information received through Google only to provide account sign-in, account identification, and related service functionality. We do not use Google account information for advertising.

You may manage or revoke Competool’s access through your Google account’s connected-app settings. Revoking access may prevent you from signing in through Google but does not automatically delete information already stored in your Competool account.

To delete your Competool account information, submit a request through the Contact page.

Competool and its service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live. Where required, we use appropriate measures designed to protect personal information transferred across borders.

Competool is a business research service and is not intended for anyone under 18 years old.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Competool, contact us so that we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Competool reports may link to third-party websites, articles, platforms, or services.

This Privacy Policy does not govern those third parties. Their handling of information is controlled by their own privacy policies and practices.

We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any third-party service you visit.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Competool develops or as our legal, operational, or technical practices change.

The “Last updated” date shows when the latest version became effective.

If we make a material change, we may notify you through the service, by email, or through another reasonable method.

We will not use information already collected for a materially different purpose without providing any notice or consent required by applicable law.
